POSITIVE OUTCOMES
2009 Report
THE CHILDREN’S HOME RESIDENTIAL TREATMENT PROGRAM
Beginning in 2005, The Children’s Home joined an outcomes measurement project originating in Indiana. This project was the first and most comprehensive project of this type in the United States.
We joined the project knowing that residential treatment is costly and that stakeholders should expect positive outcomes when they invest their time and money into this level of care.
We now have four years worth of positive outcomes to share with our stakeholders.
IMPROVED OVERALL FUNCTIONING
(As measured by the GAF)
- During the past four years overall functioning has improved 20.4% on average for all youth served. GAF scores have increased, on average 9.02 points, from 44.2 on admission to 53.21 on discharge.
YOUTH PROBLEMS

- During the past four years the number of problems youth have entered the program with has been reduced by 41.93% on average by the time they leave the program.
