An
important message from Dr. David E.
Jacobsen, CEO of The Children's Home:
Congratulations
to The Childen's Home for COA Accreditation
The Children's Home has received notification
from The Council on Accreditation (COA)
that we have successfully achieved reaccreditation
from COA. The accreditation process
is designed to promote continuous quality
improvement in the facilities and services
provided to children and families.
Our commitment is to provide the very
best quality in all that we do. The
decision from COA goes a long way to
indicate that we are meeting those
very high standards.
I want to also take the time to thank
each of you for the role you played
in this arduous process. Many children and families provided
valuable feedback
throughout our preparation for the
Self Study and during the Site Visit last March. Colleagues,
volunteers, and
members of the local community completed
questionnaires and participated in various meetings geared
toward achieving
best practice standards. Staff from
every level of the agency have been involved in the CQI
process and daily
delivery of services. And Board members
have provided excellent leadership establishing and acting
upon the
strategic initiatives created three
years ago. Thank you all.
This coming year the Home will complete
another Self Study in accordance with the redesigned
procedures from COA. This process is meant to enhance
our ability to maintain excellence in every department.
I invite all stakeholders to be involved in the process.
Please contact John Powers, Director of Volunteers, at
860-635-6010 x334 or jpowers@childhome.org to learn about
your opportunities to be part of the team.
