Specialized Programming for Boys with Developmental Disabilities
Jordan House provides care and treatment for boys (ages 13 – 21) with developmental delays that interfere with their social and educational advancement.
Our goal is to teach the skills and behaviors that will support each boy in a successful transition to a community living arrangement in the future. Jordan House boys will leave our program ready to take on the challenges that will face them as they move on to adult life.
Our Clinicians have small caseloads which afford them the time for individualized treatment planning and numerous formal and informal treatment sessions for each boy every week. They collaborate with a consulting psychologist/ behaviorist from the Program on Intellectual Disabilities at the UMASS Medical School. They also collaborate with our teachers, nurses and consulting psychiatrist to assure for a comprehensive and integrated approach to each residents' progress.
Our Residential Counselors’ focus is to assist in developing skills and modeling appropriate behaviors which increase each boy’s capacity for more independent living. Our staffing ratios allow for the development of positive relationships between residents and staff which is key to our successes.
The Learning Center supports the educational and vocational needs of the Jordan House boys.
