Program Supportive Volunteers
Volunteers are always needed to help support our staff as they provide services to our young people and their families. Whether your talent lies in fund raising, event planning, office skills or food services, The Children’s Home needs you! We can place you as a Volunteer in a department where your skills can best benefit our daily operations. All that is needed is a commitment of time at the level that you are comfortable with and a willingness to help. Examples include but are not limited to the following:
Event Volunteers are needed to help with our fund-raising events such as Golf for Kids and Taste of Cromwell. Event volunteers help secure donations and sponsors, help with booklet ads, secure participants, put up flyers and signage and help at the events. Contact Sharon at (860)635-6010 ext 327 to volunteer for events
Office Volunteers are needed to help with filing, record keeping, assembling mailings and the like. Office help is needed in our Residential Program, at The Learning Center and in our Administrative offices.
Development Department Volunteers are needed to help with various aspects of fund raising. We are also looking for Volunteers who can write newspaper articles and create Public Service Announcements for us to generate publicity for our important work with young people and their families. (Mac skills a plus)
Maintenance Volunteers are always needed. Are you one of those people who can fix anything? Then our Maintenance Team can use your help. Keeping up with repairs and maintenance of buildings and grounds that are used by all of our young people daily can be a daunting job. Volunteers can fix things, paint, garden and landscape among other tasks.
